QUINCY – A man was robbed as he walked home late at night in Wollaston. It was the sixth late-night robbery in the neighborhood in six weeks.

The 65-year-old man got off a bus on Beale Street just after midnight Tuesday and was walking on Greenwood Avenue when two men came out of a yard and demanded money, police said.

They took his wallet and cell phone and fled in opposite directions, police said. Both men were described as black and in their early 20s. One had dark clothing and the other was wearing a white golf shirt, which he pulled over his face, the victim told police.

The mugging was the latest in a spate of crimes near the Wollaston MBTA station. An unarmed stealing of a purse or wallet has happened each week for five weeks in the surrounding neighborhoods, police said. Four women had their purses snatched from behind as the thief ran by
