This is simply

This is simply not so. Deep meditation for different people may vary, and each of them may have their own ways and practices of meditating, but whatever way or practice they have chosen, the aim will always be more or less the same, achieving inner peace and happiness.

For some people, deep meditation is simply about ?not doing?. They just get themselves deeply relaxed, the body lying down comfortably on the back, listening to beautiful, flowing music and just letting go. They form a perfect state of mind for more traditional meditation, such as prayer or just enjoying the wonderful energy coursing through the body.

Deep meditation practices give us insight into both the fundamental nature of our being. It allows us to experience emotions and thoughts with great clarity and balance. The mind is freed from conditioned patterns of self-centeredness, negativity and confusion, and the heart is opened to deeper wisdom and compassion. We begin to recognize and know each moment as practice for growth toward wholeness and harmony. We discover a place in ourselves which is already whole and always in harmony, and we learn to live from a clearer center and reach into the inner part of us that results to completeness and happiness.

Do you want to learn how to eliminate, reduce or manage the stress in your life.

Almost all of them sell their laptops with a 3-month parts and labor return to base warranty. The prices are inclusive of VAT and shipping charges.

Laptop warranties do not cover cosmetic marks and scratches. But if there are serious blemishes that affect the functioning of a laptop, it would be specifically mentioned by the supplier and there would be change in the price because of that.

All laptops come with a 24 hour “Dead on Arrival” warranty for batteries unless indicated differently in the detailing. Customers would be given 24 hours in which to test their sets. Batteries that do not hold charge should be notified immediately and faulty ones would be replaced for which shipping charges would be paid by the supplier. But in any case, the useable time of the battery won?t be guaranteed by any supplier/reseller of laptops, since they are consumable items and the usage varies from person to person.

Refurbished laptop warranty is applicable only to failure of components and does not cover damages due to external causes like abuse, misuse, accidents, electrical power, failing to follow the manufacturer?s instructions as to use, installation or maintenance of the goods.

Kohl’s Earns 500th Energy Star Store Milestone in Menomonee Falls,

0 Comments | Manufacturing Close – Up, Jul 20, 2010

Kohl’s Department Stores announced that its store in Menomonee Falls, Wis. is the company’s 500th location to earn the Energy Star label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy.

In a release, Kohl said it has a longstanding commitment to energy management and estimates that the company prevented nearly $50 million in electricity costs through energy efficiency programs such as replacing 75 watt incandescent bulbs with 24 watt metal halide bulbs, implementing building automation systems and better controlling variable speed fans on commercial rooftop HVAC units. Over the last four years, accounting for rate variations, these and other proactive energy management initiatives have translated into an improvement in energy efficiency of more than 20 percent, primarily in stores.

Kohl’s also announced that beginning in spring 2011, all newly constructed stores will pursue Designed to Earn the Energy Star designation, which is awarded for building designs with an estimated energy performance that meets Energy Star criteria. Designed to Earn the Energy Star-designated buildings will be eligible for the Energy Star after maintaining superior performance – rating 75 percent or better on a scale of 100 – for one year in operation. Five Kohl’s stores in 2010 have already received the Designed to Earn designation.

“Reaching the milestone of our 500th Energy Star store is exciting for our company and our associates. We are building on our commitment to drive energy efficiency companywide as we continue to near our goal of being carbon neutral,” said Ken Bonning, Kohl’s executive vice president of store planning and logistics. “Energy management is an ongoing effort, and Designed to Earn designation for newly constructed stores will help us continue to achieve the high environmental standards we have in place for our facilities.”

Commercial buildings that earn the Energy Star label rate in the top 25 percent of facilities in the nation for energy efficiency and performance, use an average of 35 percent less energy than typical buildings and release 35 percent less carbon dioxide. Through energy management efforts that include an industry-leading solar program, ongoing lighting upgrades, central energy management systems, high- efficiency heating and cooling systems and increased use of demand response controls, Kohl’s continually works to ensure its buildings are operating efficiently

ENERGY RESOURCE-30 October 2008-Terrabon Testing Technology that Turns Non-Food Biomass into ‘Biocrude’(C)2008 JeraOne – http://www.jeraone.com

The CEO of Terrabon said the company’s non-food biomass-based technology, MixAlco, will offer a cost-effective, sustainable solution “to the urgent need to produce biofuels and bio-chemicals that satisfy the world’s appetite for renewable energy resources and reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil.”

Gary W. Luce made his comments at the National Renewable Resource Laboratory’s (NREL) 21st Growth Forum meeting in Denver.

“Over the past 15 years, we have been working with researchers at Texas A&M; University to develop a unique technology platform that uses readily available non-food biomass to produce renewable advanced biofuels,” Luce said. “MixAlco, which was inspired by the digestive processes of the ordinary cow, is an advanced bio-refining process that employs carboxylic acid fermentation followed by downstream chemistry to convert biomass products such as municipal solid waste, sewage sludge, forest product residues and non-edible energy crops, into industrial chemicals and renewable gasoline.”

Luce noted that a project for a city of 100,000, using 200 tons per day of municipal solid waste as biomass, could generate 4.5 million gallons per year of renewable gasoline at a capital cost of $22.5 million and a cash cost of less than $1.50 per gallon.

A component of Terrabon’s business plan involves joint venturing with biomass owners to build and operate plants: the feedstock owner would supply the biomass and Terrabon would provide the technology and project capital.

The scaled up, commercial feasibility of the MixAlco technology will be tested at Terrabon’s new Advanced Biofuels Research Facility, currently under construction in Bryan, Texas. When completed, the new semi-works facility will have the loading capacity of 400 dry tons of biomass, equal to a loading rate of five dry tons per day. The company will use sorghum as the primary feedstock with the objective of producing organic salts and converting them to ketones, which can be converted to renewable gasoline.

The MixAlco technology has already been successfully tested for the past three years at Terrabon’s pilot plant in College Station, Texas.

The company will hold a dedication ceremony to mark completion of the Research Facility November 7 at the plant site

IN PRAISE OF … Miranda hart.

0 Comments | Herald, The; Glasgow (UK), Jul 29, 2010 | by roger tagholm

IF there were a Birthday Honour for self-deprecation, the actress Miranda Hart, whose hit sitcom is currently being given a repeat airing on Tuesdays on BBC2, would be Dame Miranda by now.

One can just picture the scene at the Palace. The six-foot-one actress would curtsey, and then turn to the imaginary camera, just like she does on her show Miranda, and say: “Gosh, she really is small, isn’t she? I feel like I could pick her up and put her in my pocket. Would I be off to the Tower if I did that? Do they still do that, do you think? Or is it just for tourists? No, I don’t mean, do they behead tourists. That would be silly. Although, mind you, those French…”

Cue a courtier: “Madam?” breaking Miranda from her fantasy. She steps forward, trips on the carpet and just misses head-butting her Majesty.

If this were the TV show, we would see her waking up on the sofa, turning to us and saying: “There I was trying to dream about Prince William and I get his mum instead.”

Miranda is too tall and too big; she’s clumsy and geeky, and doesn’t have her life sorted. That’s why we all love her. She’s a combination of many people we’ve met and she’s also a little bit like ourselves

Another robbery near Wollaston T station

0 Comments | Patriot Ledger, The; Quincy, Mass., Jul 28, 2010

QUINCY – A man was robbed as he walked home late at night in Wollaston. It was the sixth late-night robbery in the neighborhood in six weeks.

The 65-year-old man got off a bus on Beale Street just after midnight Tuesday and was walking on Greenwood Avenue when two men came out of a yard and demanded money, police said.

They took his wallet and cell phone and fled in opposite directions, police said. Both men were described as black and in their early 20s. One had dark clothing and the other was wearing a white golf shirt, which he pulled over his face, the victim told police.

The mugging was the latest in a spate of crimes near the Wollaston MBTA station. An unarmed stealing of a purse or wallet has happened each week for five weeks in the surrounding neighborhoods, police said. Four women had their purses snatched from behind as the thief ran by

However, small business owners should

Thu ,29/07/2010

However, small business owners should not overlook change management as a killer business strategy, for this is one arena where even the solo-preneur should have no problem outrunning the big guns.

Smaller operations can literally bend strategies and rewrite policy books overnight if the market is asking for it. The bloated budgets and cumbersome management structures of large corporations simply have no chance against the strategic agility of their smaller cohorts. Day to day responsibilities are reduced to administrative minutiae in hierarchical commercial settings. For the small business, these tasks can be dynamic and even interesting, but someone has to lead the way.

Small business entrepreneurs often forget why they began working in this ?grass roots? playground in the first place. As their success builds, administrative hassles start to overwhelm them like weeds taking over a garden. While the corporate suits must spend day after day sifting through policy documents and snoozing through monotonous meetings, small business leaders are continuously presented with opportunities to tear down what is old and reinvent their operation, if that is what their markets desire.

That son was Jesus Christ. We often

Thu ,29/07/2010

That son was Jesus Christ.

We often forget that Jesus can claim the title “King of the Jews”. When Jesus was born, the wise men asked Herod “Where is he that is born King of the Jews?” Nobody laughed, for the Jewish priests knew from scriptures that one day a special king would be born in Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2,4)

We know in hindsight that the last time Jesus was on earth it was not God’s will for Jesus to become King of Israel at that time. The gospel had to be preached to the whole earth first, as it now has been. That does not mean Jesus will not be king over Israel though.

The Bible tells us that when Jesus returns, his claim to the throne of David will not be like the kings we see in our world today – Jesus will have the authority and power to lay claim to the throne.

The Bible gives us a wonderful hope for our world.

Why is mayor trying to keep PBA from testing for mold?

How can Mayor Byron Brown repeatedly deny any adverse health effects on the employees at the D District Police Station? The city’s own report states several different types of mold were found in the building, including Stachybotrys. Stachybotrys is a very toxic black mold. Exposure can result through inhalation, ingestion and dermal exposure. There are too many health problems from just this mold to list.

An officer complained that many working there were sick. The city then hired a company to clean the air ducts, prior to air quality and other tests. If there are no health risks, then why is the city making it extremely difficult for the Police Benevolent Association to do its own testing? The city is requiring people who go into the building for testing with the union to have a $1 million liability insurance policy on themselves and each vehicle that will be in the parking lot while testing. I’m sure the testing company would be insured, but I know of no one who has a $1 million liability policy on himself or his car.

If the building is as safe as the mayor is saying, then why the major roadblocks and stipulations for the PBA to do its own tests? It makes one wonder what’s really in that building.

Israelis reveal contempt for U.S. with Biden snub

As if we needed any further evidence of Israeli contempt for the United States, and its control over the U.S. political environment, the recent exchange between the Obama administration and the Netanyahu government serves as a perfect illustration. First, the Israelis insult Vice President Biden by throwing their plans for further settlement expansion right in his face while he is visiting to try to restart the peace process talks.

When the Obama administration rightly complains that this action undermines the possibility of the peace talks, Benjamin Netanyahu pleads innocence, the U.S. Congress then upbraids President Obama for his impudence and showers Netanyahu with professions of support when he visits the United States.

We are the tail — being wagged by a country that has a blank check from our Congress to pursue its own schemes, regardless of how much harm it causes to the Palestinian people, or how much trouble it causes for us in the Middle East.

If you hear static, then move on

Thu ,29/07/2010

If you hear static, then move on to another brand. Remember you get what you pay for. It is better to spend a little more now and have the assurance that your baby?s needs won?t go unattended because you didn?t hear him or her.

As you would expect, some baby monitors are very basic whereas others have all of the possible ‘bells and whistles’. Some of the features you may wish to consider when buying a monitor are as follows:

An indicator light on the receiver that will alert you when the batteries are low and need to be changed. You don’t want to think that all is quiet in baby’s room only to find that in fact your batteries have run out.

Another light display on some monitors will allow you to see if your baby is crying without turning up the volume. There is a set of lights on the receiver. The louder your baby cries, the more lights are lit up.

If you have a large home or enjoy working in your garden, it is possible to buy multiple receivers for different areas of your home.

For those who want to monitor the baby even more closely, there are some baby monitors that have motion detectors, and even video so you can see what your baby is doing.

There are a few disadvantages to having a baby monitor.
